How Brinmi works

The short version of each step, and what to do when something doesn't go to plan.

How a delivery works

A requester posts what they need, the item price they'll pay and a carry fee. A traveler heading that way confirms both prices or suggests their own. When the requester accepts, the price is agreed.

Everything after that happens in one conversation: the traveler buys the item and posts the receipt, you agree a meet-up place and time (after the traveler is back), and you hand it over.

Who pays what, and when

The requester pays the item price and the carry fee directly to the traveler, in person, when they meet. Brinmi doesn't take payment or hold money.

Both amounts are agreed in the chat before anything is bought, and the receipt shows what was actually paid.

What can't be carried

Illegal drugs, and medicines that aren't prescribed to the person carrying them.

Weapons, ammunition, explosives, and anything flammable or under pressure.

Cash, gold, and valuables for someone else.

Fake or counterfeit goods.

Meat, fresh food, plants, seeds or animal products, unless both countries allow them.

Alcohol or tobacco above what a traveler may bring in.

Anything else the airline or either country doesn't allow.

Only carry what you bought yourself or watched being packed. Never carry a sealed package.

What's in a traveler's luggage is that traveler's responsibility, including declaring goods and paying any duty.

The handover code

When the meet-up is agreed, the requester sees a short code. Give it to the traveler only once the item is in your hands. They enter it to finish the delivery, which can't be undone.

Reviews

After a handover, each person rates the other from 1 to 5 and can add a comment. What each wrote stays hidden until both are in, or for seven days, so neither review is a reply to the other.

A person's rating, deliveries and cancellations show on their profile.

If plans change

A traveler can tap “I can't make this trip anymore” at any time before the handover. The requester is told straight away and their request opens to new offers. It shows as a cancelled delivery on the traveler's record, with no other penalty.

A requester can edit or close a request until an offer is accepted, and can release a traveler who hasn't set off by their travel date.

Privacy

People reach each other only through Brinmi's chat. Your phone number and email stay private, and your exact address goes only to the traveler you choose.

Something went wrong

Open the delivery and choose “Report a problem”. The delivery pauses and the Brinmi team reviews the conversation before deciding what happens next.

Keep your conversation on Brinmi. It's how we can help if something goes wrong. Pay the traveler in person at the handover, never before you have the item.
